Summer of Culture at the Hufeisen Cultural Centre - Germersheim
The Kultursommer (KuSo) in Germersheim is a long-established music festival that has made a name for itself far beyond the city limits and the region with its diverse and ambitious programme. On various dates throughout the summer months, the KuSo programme offers spatial-sound cult paths through the battlements of the fortress complex, the so-called Walks, with their various art stations, artists and performances, as well as convivial festivities in a unique ambience, impressive vocal performances and choral works as well as instrumental and orchestral concerts or improvised and contemporary art. The spectrum is broad and has something in store for every culture lover and artistic taste. The special location of the festival is also quite distinctive, namely the old walls in the former fortress complex near the municipal music school and music academy. The excellent acoustics of the arched inner courtyard in the Hufeisen cultural centre of the Fronte Beckers and the Mediterranean flair of the historic building ensemble make every event a very special occasion. Every year, the Germersheim Summer of Culture is based on the given state motto of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Initiative for the Summer of Culture, which also financially supports the Germersheim Summer of Culture. Thanks to this support, it has meanwhile become a fixed and popular feature of the cultural life of the city and the region.
