Pula 2021: Sustainable valorisation of the fortified heritage

The joint scientific committee FORTE CULTURA / EFFORTS organised an evaluation conference on SUSTAINABLE VALORISATION OF FORTED HERITAGE under the auspices of Juraj Dobrila University in Pula (HR). The online conference aims to support the cultural heritage of fortified monuments by sharing and discussing best practices across Europe on various topics. The aim is to develop an international and multidisciplinary scientific and research network and to exchange information and experiences related to EUROPEAN BEST PRACTICES in the field of fortified monument management and development.

 

The conferene programme included five focal points:

  • Pula’s Fortification System as example for the needed development processes of a major for-tress system
  • Inventory and Building Research
  • Restoration and Monument Protection, Con-version and Sustainable Utilization
  • City and Regional Development
  • Tourism development and implementation
  • Preparation of possible World Heritage nomina-tions/ applications

 

The conference was recorded online. The video with all the contributions can be found on our YouTube channel.
