Partner Networks
European Federation of Fortified Sites (EFFORTS)
The European Federation of Fortified Sites (EFFORTS), based in Brussels, was founded in 2017 in the Spandau Citadel. As a lobbying organization, EFFORTS is an interface between European institutions and fortress monuments or networks dealing with the preservation and use of European heritage of fortified monuments. Since July 2020 EFFORTS and FORTE CULTURA are connected via cooperation agreement and work together for the preservation and uitilzation of the European cultural heritage of fortified monuments.
Fortress monuments and the Second World War have many points of contact. The European Cultural Route “Liberation Route Europe”, certified by the Council of Europe in 2019, leads on remembrance ways to the historical sites of the Second World War in Europe. FORTE CULTURA / EFFORTS and LRE signed in a Memorandum of Understanding in January 2021, to work on common topics.
European Routes of Reformation (RoR)
The world-historically significant age of the Reformation and the development of the modern fortress construction, albeit in a time-delayed manner, fall into a common epoch and have influenced each other. These historical similarities are now also the basis of a cooperation agreement between the two cultural routes. The aim of the cooperation is to provide impetus for the cultural-tourist, social and economic valorization of the cultural heritage of the Reformation and the fortress architecture. The cooperation partners are convinced that the existing interfaces open up development opportunities and synergies for both cultural routes.
